Yep, we are still here in Bridgetown! We haven’t posted for a while so I thought we’d better put up some new photos for you all to look at.
The boys have been learning to drive, Jayson has been driving the loader and Jake has been learning to drive the ride on mower.

We drove out to Boyup Brook (25km) on the weekend to see WA’s country music festival. The festival is held in conjunction with the Boyup Brook annual truck and ute show.

February already! Back to School! Still Bridgetown!
Jayson started schooling for 2008 this week, considering its the first week back it seems to be full on. Unlike last year where he was knocking the days work over in less than a couple hours, this week he has been spending 6+ hours a day to get though it. In saying that, he has done 5 days work over 4 days, Monday being a public holiday. I think he is going to be a busy boy this year!
January has come and gone, yet we are still here in Bridgetown Carvan Park. We had initially intended to stay for 10 days, then a further few days, then a further week, and now its over a month later and we are still here and happy to stay a little while longer. The weather is great, the park is quiet and friendly, we have made friends with the park owners Brad and Sue, a couple of other long term guests and socialised with many of the other guests that have come and gone over the month. We haven’t travelled far from Bridgetown in the past couple weeks, other than the odd 30k trip to Manjimup to stock up on groceries.
We have had a couple nights of entertainment by a solo musician who plays the guitar, «—click here to read more—»

We have been in Bridgetown for the past week and are due to check out of the park in a couple days time but we are considering staying on longer. With a population of approximately 4000 people, Bridgetown is a reasonably small community based in the Jarrah timber logging area, however the town’s attraction to tourism is its heritage style. Bridgetown CBD is set in the valley of very hilly country along the Blackwood River, the surrounding homes fill the hill sides land with most block having a fall of 1:10 to 3:10. Having friends who live here makes it an attractive place for us to stay for a while, however it is also conveniently central to most towns in the south west part of WA. We have been for several day trips to Perth, Busselton, Bunbury, Margaret River and many smaller towns in the area.

We left Albany on Boxing day and stopped at the Valley of the Giants.
Boxing day was quite warm down here, reaching 41 Deg C. We arrived at the Valley of the Giants before midday so the day had heated up. We grabbed some drinking water and head off to walk the tree tops and valley. Although it was very warm, the trees did offer shade which made the walk more comfortable. «—click here to read more—»

We would like to thank our dear friends, John, Vanya, Bonnie, Penny, Grace, Mary and Harriet Talbot for making our Christmas a time to remember. Christee-Lee and I discussed on a few occasions our concerns about Christmas on the road, we were concerned that we would all miss being at home with our families. Although we do miss our families, we had one of the most enjoyable Christmases ever, and by far the high light of our trip so far. As we drove off from Albany we were wishing the Talbots were coming with us, we were all missing their company.
